Ringing in the Holidays 2023 Style

Park City might rank #5 on Country Living’s 2023 “30 Most Magical Christmas Towns in the U.S.,” but to us, this mountain town ranks #1. To help you navigate the many amazing holiday happenings in and near Park City, we’ve compiled a list of our favorite holiday happenings from now through the New Year.

2023 Snow Globe Stroll

The magical snow globes are back on Main Street, providing an engaging incentive to travel from the bottom to the top of the town’s most festive thoroughfare! Each of the seven life-sized globes is themed to celebrate a beloved holiday song, including “Last Christmas,” "Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” “Frosty the Snowman,” “Winter Wonderland,” “Let It Snow” and “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.” You can preview the map of the seven snow globes here, and be sure to scan the QR code at each globe and enter to win weekly prizes. Remember to bring those letters to Santa to mail at the cheery red mailbox you’ll find at the top of Main Street.

 Kick off the holiday season on a merry and bright note with the 7th annual tree lighting ceremony and fireworks, which includes:

3–6 p.m.: Sip, Shop, & S'mores | Pendry Plaza
4–6 p.m.: Live Holiday Music & Souvenir Park City Mountain ornament (while supplies last)
4:30–5:45 pm: Photos with Santa (last photo with Santa will be taken at 5:45 p.m.)
5:45 pm: Canyons Village Holiday Tree Lights Up!
5:50 pm: Fireworks Display

Clydesdale Wagon Rides with Santa Picture

Thursday, Nov. 30 (choose from six times between 5 – 8 p.m. 

Kick off the holiday season in the beautiful Kamas Valley with a wagon ride featuring Clydesdale horses and a photo opp with Santa! Give yourself time to grab a cocoa and goodies from the Country Store & Café. Reservations are required, with kids ages 4-12 are $12 and adults $30 (photo with Santa included). Tree Lighting Celebration with Santa & Reindeer

Join the Big Red Elf and his trusty reindeer for Pendry’s inaugural tree lighting ceremony as they illuminate a 30-foot tree, and offer complimentary photographs at this free event that is open to the public.

Grand Ole Opry inductee, Mitch Rossell, has opened for Garth Brooks’ 2022 stadium tour, and has written four of the superstar’s singles, including, "Ask Me How I Know.”  Tickets start at $24.60, with discounts for youth and seniors, and can be purchased here.

Park City Santa Pub Crawl & Toy Drive

Each year, hundreds of Santas, elves, and other festively costumed revelers take to Main Street for one night during the annual Park City Santa Pub Crawl. The event has grown exponentially and includes a toy-drive element to benefit the CCPC’s Operation Hope program. The evening starts at 6 p.m. at Butcher’s Chop House and Bar (751 Lower Main Street), then on to the Downstairs (625 Main Street) at 7 p.m. for the toy drop off, best staff costumes, DJ, and commemorative shot glass. Other locations include the No Name (447 Main Street) and Flanagans (438 Main Street) from 8 – 10 p.m. with the final stop at The Cabin (427 Main Street) for the End of Night party, opportunity drawing and live music from Los Hellcaminos. 

The Squirrel Nut Zippers – Holiday Caravan

The Squirrel Nut Zippers bring their Southern roots and swing revival sound to Park City with songs from their “Christmas Caravan” and “Mardi Gras for Christmas” albums, in addition to other holiday favorites! This indoor, one-stop shop for holiday gifts from the Park Silly Market organizers features 90 local vendors offering local goods and includes a free photo opp with Santa! Parking and entry are free and open to the public. 

Park City Holiday Spectacular & Sing-Along!

This beloved local holiday tradition is a must-do experience for Parkites and visitors, alike. The evening features song, dance, skits, a visit from Santa, and choir-led sing-alongs. Regular seats are $17 for youth ages 12 and under, $20 for adults, with Front-of-House tickets at $24 and Cabaret tables immediately in front of the stage at $30 each. The Nutcracker Suite, presented by Peggy Bergmann Ballet West Academy Park City Campus

Join the Deer Valley Creative Academy for this unique combination of culinary and crafts suitable for the youngest of foodies. Their pastry pros will offer a festive time helping guests decorate their very own gingerbread house complete with an array of frostings, candies, confections … and cocoa, of course! The Park City Nutcracker

Presented by Summit Dance Project, The Park City Nutcracker is an abbreviated version of the holiday classic, performed by local dance students and fully produced with the festive backdrops, dancing, and costuming befitting the legendary ballet. Tickets are $30 and available by clicking here.

Santa Arrives on the Town Lift

It wouldn’t be Christmas in Park City without the musical stylings of Utah’s Emmy Award-winning favorite, Kurt Bestor. Bestor takes to the Egyptian stage for four nights featuring holiday favorites and original music in the beautiful, intimate confines of this historic landmark. Christmas Eve Torchlight Parade

The Greatest Showman Sing-a-Long

The Greatest Showman Sing-a-Long is a special version of the hit movie musical with onscreen lyrics to facilitate the singing spree, including showstoppers “This is Me,” “Rewrite the Stars” and “Never Enough.” Wear your best circus-inspired costume to win a prize.
